DFW Airport is among the biggest airports in the United States, featuring five main terminals – Terminal A, Terminal B, Terminal C, Terminal D, and Terminal E. The DFW airport is made up of semicircular terminals that face each other. In between these terminals are the International Parkway and other road systems. Each semicircle terminal has a parking lot on the inside. Terminals C and D also have airport hotels. Ground transportation is available from the inner, landside (pre-security) areas of each terminal. The airside departure gates (post-security) are located on the outside of each semicircle.
The gates are numbered according to the terminal; for example, A28 is in Terminal A, and D18 is located in Terminal D. The Skylink light rail service is a convenient way to travel post-security and connects all terminals running on the outskirts of the semicircles. It is also possible to walk airside between all terminals except Terminal E.
